Money Matters
A Five-Part Training Series to Help You Understand How to Manage Your Money
ECNV offers this five-part training to help people with disabilities understand and manage money. Eligibility is open to FIS Waiver and DARS referrals as well as anyone interested in expanding their knowledge about money. Virtual classes will take place on Wednesdays from 4-5pm, January 8 – February 5, 2025. Registration is required and closes December 20. All interested individuals (or counselors) are welcome to ask questions at info@ecnv.org. Use our Online Registration Form to sign up today! Participants must be Northern Virginia residents.
Participants will learn to

Understand what money is and the ways that it can be earned, lost, saved, and spent

Do basic budgeting through identifying financial wants, needs, and obligations.

Identify different types of bank accounts and credit products that can be used to hold money and pay for things.

Protect themselves and their money by learning how to identify and avoid scams and financial abuse.

Be prepared to safely earn, save, and spend their own money on their own terms.

Money Matters is perfect for people with disabilities who want to learn more about what money is, how it works, and how they can earn, save, and spend money on their own.

Money Matters will be held virtually. Participants will need access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone (or other electronic device with audio / visuals) to participate.
