ECNV Helps Afghan, Sudan Refugees Community

On July 27, 2023, ECNV cosponsored an Afghan, Sudan refugees community resource fair organized by Second Story organization, Food for Others and Fairfax County. ECNV’s Director of Multicultural Families, Rosalia Fajardo could deeply feel the need of the refugees but at the same time the joy and the immense gratitude for the COVID-19 tests, the food, the school bags that were distributed. Yes, ECNV and fair attendees were under 100 degrees, but the smiles and the hugs of the children and women alleviated the discomfort and tears that could not be contained. Thanks, USAging for supporting our efforts to serve the most in need.

El 27 de julio de 2023, ECNV copatrocinó una feria de recursos comunitarios para refugiados afganos y sudaneses organizada por la organización Second Story, Food for Others y el condado de Fairfax. La directora de Familias Multiculturales de la ECNV, Rosalía Fajardo, pudo sentir profundamente la necesidad de los refugiados pero al mismo tiempo la alegría y el inmenso agradecimiento por las pruebas de COVID-19, la comida, las mochilas escolares que se repartieron. Sí, ECNV y los asistentes a la feria estuvieron bajo los 100 grados, pero las sonrisas y los abrazos de los niños y mujeres aliviaron el malestar y las lágrimas que no se pudieron contener.
