On Saturday, August 10, 2024, ECNV was a key partner for the Bailey’s Back-to-School Event. With over 700 attendees and 350 backpacks distributed, our support was crucial in making the event a huge success! Seva Truck and Ñoño’s Taqueria provided complimentary meals to all attendees!

On Saturday, August 3, 2024 Supervisor Dan Storck’s Back to School Community Day, in partnership with Fairfax County, hosted a successful event at Lorton Community Center route one corridor. ECNV was a partner in this wonderful event!
Disability Resource & Employment Fair
On Friday, May 3, 2024, ECNV participated in the Disability Employment and Resource Fair sponsored by The Arc of Loudoun and the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center, co-hosted by the Loudoun County Board of Disability Services. The event was well attended – over 250 fair goers!

Empowering Independence: Shamarke's Travel Training Adventure to Panera
ECNV's travel trainer, Margarita, recently (3/25/24) accompanied Shamarke to Panera Bread in Alexandria to get lunch via metro bus and back to Springfield metro. During the journey, Shamarke successfully learned to use the Smart Trip card independently.

On Thursday, March 21, 2024, ECNV travel trainers Andrew Shaw and Hunter Cardwell led a group of persons with disabilities from the Arc of Northern VA on a travel training trip from Ashburn to Tysons metro. There were 30 attendees.

Connecting with Students at Mason Life
On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, ECNV Training & Mobility Manager Andrew Shaw spoke to Mason Life students at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. He presented to students from all grades, from freshmen to seniors about travel training.

Advocates Speak at Arlington Legislative Forum
On Monday, December 11, 2023, advocates stood up to be heard at the Arlington Legislative Delegation Forum. ECNV Peer Mentor, Joseph Albert stressed the importance of being included, accepted and able to work. Director of Disability Justice, Cherie Takemoto spoke about the needs for changes for DD Waiver programs. ECNV Agents of Change (Arlington Three) Advocate, Ben McGann explained that virtual public meetings should be a disability accessibility right. ECNV Agents of Change (Arlington Three) Advocate, Huan Vuong advocated for the right to work - especially closer to home in Arlington.
