Dateability

After years of facing discrimination and rejection due to her disability,  co-founder Jacqueline Child, along with her sister created Dateability, the dating app designed for people with disabilities and chronic illness.

According to Child:  “The bottom line is disabled people have sex, and they are worthy of sex and relationships. And I think a lot of people forget about that or don’t want to think about that. But it’s a really important conversation.”

The app’s unique profile descriptors, called Dateability Deets, allows users to include details of their disabilities, such as checking boxes for mobility aid, intellectual disability, or permanent medical device.  With Dateability, users can find love in a safe space that minimizes the ableist behaviors and expectations perpetuated by society.

It is available on iOS, Android, and web.
