On Saturday, September 17, 2022, ECNV staff Andrew and Elaine Shaw decided to check out the Northern Virginia Resource Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons (NVRC) Celebrate Communication Fair held at the Springfield Town Center.

They were impressed with two free apps for communicating with their deaf/hard of hearing friends:

• Clear Captions is a federally managed program and free service that displays the callers’ words in near real-time. This service is available for home and mobile device calling and has lifetime support.

• Naglish (Hebrew for 'Accessible') lets you take phone calls using text instead of or in addition to using voice. It is fast, intuitive, and free.

El sábado 17 de septiembre de 2022, el personal de ECNV, Andrew y Elaine Shaw, decidieron visitar el Centro de Recursos para Personas Sordas y con Problemas de Audición (NVRC) del Norte de Virginia que celebra la Feria de Comunicación celebrada en el Springfield Town Center.

Quedaron impresionados con dos aplicaciones gratuitas para comunicarse con sus amigos sordos o con problemas de audición:

• Clear Captions es un programa administrado por el gobierno federal y un servicio gratuito que muestra las palabras de las personas que llaman casi en tiempo real. Este servicio está disponible para llamadas domésticas y de dispositivos móviles y tiene soporte de por vida.

• Naglish (hebreo para 'Accesible') le permite tomar llamadas telefónicas usando texto en lugar de, o además, de usar la voz. Es rápido, intuitivo y gratuito.
